Spilling the Beans...

I guess it’s time to “spill the beans” so to speak. ;-) Sweet hubby has left to help with the war effort in Afghanistan.

We euphemistically call it “a trip to the Big A.” LOL! Sounds much more appealing, don’t you think? The other euphemism we enjoy using? My Sweetie is on vacation at the beach—only without the ocean. :-)

The uncertainty is really difficult. We don't know what the future holds... However, come to think of it, each of us is a terminal case (thanks to good 'ol Adam and Eve)—whether we want to admit it or not… What our family must focus on is that the Lord calls each of us to use the time He has given to the best of our ability—and for His glory. (If we are using any of it otherwise, we are not using it properly. ;-) Okay… Guess that's enough preaching to myself in this blog. LOL!

We still find time to laugh here—I refuse to stay sad! We have enjoyed the wonderful fall weather & took a field trip down to help my parents with their ranch. (I’ve typed up a short blog about that—just have to get the picture ready.)

Sending a big (((HUG))) to each of you & prayers for you & your families,

Much Love in Christ Jesus our Savior & Lord,

ooly!

  1. Precious Ooly; I tried to put myself in your place...my heart is grieved at the thought of your loving sacrifice, in so many ways...yet it is only that I can imagine...not fully comprehend the love that will let one go in the way that you have...I think of some of the deciples who had husbands that left everything to follow Christ...and so many more down through the ages...I am left with nothing to say, except that of a prayer that you will be comforted with the Presence of the Living Christ, His Holy Spirit to comfort and guide and give you wisdom as you care for your household...as you wait for your husband's safe return...I join you in clinging to His promise that, "I will keep ALL that you commit unto me, against that day."...remembering that His thoughts are not ours, and His ways are not ours...but they are perfect and eternal...I love you Ooly...and God bless you and the children in all your ways and in our Lord's faithful keeping....always and always....jOy

  2. Sweet & Precious (((Joy))),

Your loving comment warms my heart... Thank you for your prayers, and for joining with us in clinging to His promises…

The Lord shared with me that this was coming—which is one reason I’ve been off the computer. There are many other things that have happened/are happening in our lives right now, but what really matters is that the Lord is still sovereign, He loves us, and He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

To be honest, it is really difficult when my sweetie leaves—especially at first. After a while, one gets used to it. About the time I’m really getting the hang of “independence,” my sweetie comes home! LOL! It really stretches me. How flexible does the Lord want us to become? All I know is: He’s working with me.

Things have been so busy around here, but I honestly wouldn’t trade a moment of it. Life is so precious & so short. It reminds me of a saying we had hanging on our wall as I grew up: “There’s only one life, ‘twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

We continue in prayer for you & your dear ones…

Sweet (((Joy))) I love you too… forever & ever,

    ooly!
